Manchester United have reached agreement with the former Leipzig boss to take over at Old Trafford
The Red Devils have gone shopping in the German Supermarket just like Liverpool and Chelsea did to see a turnaround in their results.
But unlike Chelsea and Reds, United went for the Head of it all, the inspiration behind Klopp and Tuchel’s success in modern coaching.
Ralf Rangnick has been credited many times as the originator of the GenGen pressing that’s currently in use by Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp.
Although Rangnick has his own way of pressing, it’s stated that he brought this GenGen pressing into existence and Klopp learnt from him.
Initially Klopp was mistaken to be the master of this format but having looked back in time and how things worked at Leipzig, it’s formerly concluded that Klopp only learnt from Ralf.
With United already reaching an agreement with the 63-year-old after just a short interview that he had little time to prepare for, Rangnick is expected to join the Red Devils after compensation is paid to Lokomotive Moscow where he works as Heads of Sports and Development.
Ahead of his announcement, Somtosport takes a look at 3 ways the German tactician can line up Manchester United with the available players.
Looking back at his days, Rangnick has only featured 3 formations, the 3-5-2, 4-4-2 and the 4-3-3.
Ralf Rangnick used this formation mostly while still at Leipzig and it helped his side concede least goals in the league.
It’s possible he could implement this set up at United to help solve the defensive woes at the club.
This formation is mostly likely to see Harry Maguire at the back with two other defenders, Eric Bailly and Lindelof with Varane currently out injured.
It could also see Ronaldo teaming up in front with Cavani but one problem here is that Ralf prefers to play with a young squad as that will accelerate the team’s recovery time.
So this could mean, Cavani leaving United when Ralf arrives and Mason Greenwood coming to the front page.
Alex Telles and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will now get a more attacking role than they currently do with a defensive minded midfielder helping to drop when the team launches into a high intensity attack.
The 4-4-2 is another United can map out under Ralf Rangnick who has also mostly promoted a traditional way of football but in a modernized method.
Ralf Rangnick looks at the four man defense as another means to provide stability to his squad but in this case the two wing backs will play heavier roles in the team.
As they won’t just be defenders but also attackers and will always make their selves available to stop attacks.

Also this method can see Ronaldo taking up the left wing role while Cavani links up front with Mason Greenwood or Rashford.
The 4-3-3 formation is another dangerous way Ralf Rangnick can decide to take on United.
He has done pretty well in the past across the several clubs he has managed using this formation.
