Having improved on Last season’s performance where they were 3rd in the league and crashed out of 3 semi finals, The season can however not be considered as a successful one as they were overwhelming favorites to lift the Europa league.

Before we look at how they can have a successful outing next season we have to first of all define what a successful season will be for the Old Trafford faithfuls.

They have to get 80+ points in the league, and at least get to the quarter finals of the Champions League. Mostly importantly they have to win a silverware for the season to be considered successful.

Winning the League will however be the target for Ole and his boys. But they wouldn’t beat themselves up if they loose it having garnered 80+ points.

To do this, United have to improve in a number of ways. Maybe the board, the coaches or those on the pitch.

1. Consistency

Since Ole Gunnar took charge at the Old Trafford in December 2018, consistency has been the side’s biggest Achilles heels as they’ve gone on several good runs but managed to bottle it in the end.

Last season they produced very good results against the big boys but losses in the hands of the minions. And that sums up the team Good against the good and poor against the poor.

Though they’ve shown improvoements this term, they still found a way to lose to 20th placed Sheffield United and drawn relegated wesbrom and fulham.

2. Squad Strengthening

With the likes of Manchester city, Chelsea and Liverpool already marking grounds in the transfer market, United Will have to resort to the market to strengthen their squad in key areas.

They need a defensive midfielder in the mould of Wilfred Ndidi or Declan Rice as the MC Tominay and Fred pivot is obviously not good enough to challenge city to the title.

They also need to secure the signature of English Hot kid, Jardon Sancho as they look to add a wide creative forward to their ranks.

The addition of English Captain, Harry Kane, If it happens will be a very fantastic addition as he is an upgrade on any of United’s forwards.

Centre back is also an area where they’ll be in market to improve having contacted Varane.

3. Keep The Away Form going.

They have to keep their good away form that has seen them escape defeat away from home through out this Premier League season as fans returns to the stadium.

4. They’ve to stop conceding early.

United over the course of the season have formed an habit of conceding the first goal of the match. An habit which have seen them conceed first in over 15 games this season including the UEL finals. As fans returns to the stadium a comeback away is less likely.

1. Defend Set Pieces Better

Man United have not done too well at defending set pieces as they have conceded silly goals from corners and other set pieces.

Their horrendous defending of set pieces once again cut up with them as it costed them the Europa League.

They should be practicing set pieces as they don’t score too many from there either.

Bonus : Ole Has To Be More Ruthless With His Team Selection as he sticks with underperforming first team players instead of turning to his bench for inspiration. He has to know when to sub off a Player who’s having a bad day.
