Harry Maguire had hinted on James being the reason for England’s defeat to Hungary after the Chelsea Man came on to win the opponents a penalty
Following the look of things, James was harshly penalized during the England vs Hungary game on Saturday.
The English man came off the bench to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold but sadly was seen in a mix just minutes after coming on.
Reece James had barely touched the opponent who quicky dropped to the floor from a contest, with the Referee wasting no time to award a penalty.
Hungary converted this opportunity very well to have the only goal of the game, as The Three Lions failed to find an equalizer.
Clearly this hasn’t gone down well with James who has hit back at the Man United Captain.
The Chelsea star has gone on to reply the comment from his teammate; speaking in an interview with BTSport, James said; “It wasn’t the kind of game you wish for. But we won’t back down.
“I know the Referee’s decision was quick and maybe harsh but it’s happened already and we just have to move on now.
Asked about Harry Maguire’s comment on the score possibly remaining at par if he hadn’t come on, James continued; “Oh that? I think he was joking about it. We spoke and it was a joke.
“I even told him back stage too that am far better than he is and he was like, ‘okay, you go yours back’. So it’s not a big deal.
“But still, somethings are better left unsaid. We will just remain focused on the games and see what we can achieve.”
