Arsenal Set To Sell Up To Five Players To Fund James Maddison Deal

Arsenal have showed interest in signing James Maddison from Leicester City as the hunt for an attacking-midfielder continues.

This summer transfer window is one that Arsenal fans are looking forward to and might be the biggest Arsenal have faced in history.

Mikel Arteta have cited the need to overhaul his squad and make some top signings so as to avoid a repeat of their 2020/21 disastrous Campaign.

According to reports, Arsenal are looking to add at least five new players to the current team this summer, but they are going to need to cut their cloth before they can make official bids.

Arsenal Set To Sell Up To Five Players To Fund James Maddison Deal

Arteta have always made Martin Ødegaard his first choice as an attacking Midfielder but Arsenal’s failure to reach an agreement with Real Madrid means they will have to look elsewhere.

The Gunners have alternatively turned to Leicester City star James Maddison and Arsenal have been keeping close tabs on him and are now considering making a bid.

However,James Maddison is believed to be worth about  £70million and this might be a stumbling block for Arsenal given the current financial crisis at the club.

Leicester obviously would want a big fee if they want to sell at all but fortunately, Arteta have identified players who are no longer needed in his team and they could be used as makeweight in Maddison’s deal.

According to reports, Arsenal are now listening to offers for Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi and Eddie Nketiah and even Bellerin if the right offer comes in.

Maitland-Niles- £14.4million,

Torreira- £18million,

Guendouzi- £18million

Bellerin- £22.2million.

Nketiah- £18M

Xhaka- £20M

Should those players be successfully sold, it would offer Arsenal an immediate cash injection of £110.6M  and Arsenal will be in a strong position to sign Maddison.
