Chelsea have leveled up their offer for the Gabonese and Tuchel is now more confident of a reunion
Former Arsenal striker, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is drawing closer to a Chelsea transfer move following the West Londoners latest bid.
Aubameyang had a very good spell under Tuchel while they both were at Borussia Dortmund and the striker sees it likely they could achieve similar feat at Chelsea.
Despite stubbornness from Barcelona, Chelsea have gone ahead to heighten their offer for Auba, convincing Barca into considering the move as feasible.
The Catalans are in a financial mess and the urge to sell some players is what Chelsea are looking to take advantage of at the moment.
With Frankie de Jong also on their want list, Blues have turned their attention solely on wrapping up Aubameyang’s deal first before any other thing.
Meeting between the player’s camp and Chelsea have been scheduled in the next hours and Chelsea are confident they will convince him to make the switch.
Ahead of the meeting, Aubameyang disclosed he is still in touch with Tuchel from time to time and ranks the German as the best managers he has ever worked with.
“We had a good relationship, me and the Boss back at Dortmund and I can’t forget the memories,” Aubameyang said.
“He is a great man with alot of tactical gifts, I played for him and I know what I learnt from him.
Asked if he would some day love reunion with Tuchel, “I don’t know what the future holds, but if it says am back under him, then I will be very happy cause I enjoyed scoring many goals for him.”
