Marcus Rashford participated in the Euro 2020 with a shoulder injury as this also contributed to his limited game time.

The youngster right after the competition went for a shoulder surgery that is expected to have him out for months.

Projections pointed to an October return for the Academy graduate but it appears he will be back before then.

The 23-year-old is also now participating in 2 sessions per week in order to speed up his recovery as he is now likely to return earlier.

With the current rate his is recovering, Rashford could be back by next month; September.

Speaking to Metro, Lee Sharp questioned the necessity of having Rashford in the Euro squad as he suggested it would have been better the English man sat home and underwent his surgery.

“I think it’s a shame because he’s needed this operation before he went to the Euros,” he told Metro.

“He had very limited minutes [in the Euros] and it might have been better for him to stay at home and have the operation a little sooner.

“But that obviously didn’t happen, and I think he’s going to be very tough to replace.

“I don’t think the club will go out to buy someone to replace him because it is only two to three months and I think it’s a chance for people like Mason Greenwood to step up and show what he can do.”
