Chelsea Address Reason For Drogheda Friendly Post-Ponement

The Blues called off their game against Drogheda today after a sudden COVID spike

Chelsea players turned to another training session after they were made to call off their Pre-Season friendly game against Irish side, Drogheda.

The game which was set to kick-off by 6pm today but the clubs were meant to pend their game over health concerns.

Despite Chelsea having announced there would be a full Stadium when the Premier League resumes, strict covid measures still need to be taken to avert every possible issues of the players getting infected.

Speaking after the cancellation, a Chelsea Spokesperson said; “Earlier today, we had a possible positive Covid case which we are investigating.

“Individual isolated from rest of group. Also decided, as precaution, to cancel tonight’s closed doors game against Drogheda.”

Drogheda only learnt of the postponement after arriving the venue and had to engage in extra training session.
