The Spanish team having earlier on demanded for Jules Koundé’s €80m release clause to be paid before he leaves are yet to receive a convincing response from the Blues.

Chelsea have earlier on tried to use Kurt Zouma as a makeweight to force through Jules Koundé’s arrival to Stamford Bridge.

But the Zouma isn’t interested with a trip to Spain likewise Sevilla who have only demanded for cash for their star back man.

With Chelsea already planning to sell Zouma to West Ham United before going for Koundé, Sevilla recently disclosed an issue that could serve as a stumbling block for Chelsea.

Following reports from AS Marca, Sevilla will see the 22-year-old’s release clause climb to as high as €90m if it isn’t triggered by the end of the month as the summer window draws to a close.

But this doesn’t necessarily mean Sevilla will increase their demands to exactly that €90m, rather they will just have more options in the negotiations that could leave them more profiting than currently.

Chelsea have until the end of the month to make the deal happen or risk Sevilla asking for more money.
