Manchester United prepare to lock horns with the Spanish side after being matched against each other during the round of 16 draw
Atletico Madrid will take on English side, Manchester United for the round of 16 of their UCL Campaign following draw.
United will travel to Spain on the 23rd of February to take on the Wanda Metropolitano owners but Simeone believes it won’t be an easy task.
According to the Atletico boss, United will sure be matched with force greater than what they may be expecting when they visit Spain.
Atletico failed to get past the round of 16 last season as they lost to UCL winners, Chelsea.
Following Simeone’s comments, it’s vivid the side are keen to get past where they stopped last season.
“I think it’s a good draw, although there was a redraw due to technical errors but all is good,” Simeone said.
“Last season we were disappointed by a side that were more determined and prepared than we were.
“This season we surely want to get past the round of 16, cause we have not come this far in order to fall out again.
“Manchester United is a good team and are doing well but we have to do what it takes in order to make sure that we are victorious.
“They have good players and we also do, it will be a tough game and we both enough time to prepare for the match.
“We also have the league games in front of us and we will take everything one step at a time and hopefully there won’t be injuries by the time we will be getting ready for the match.”
