Chelsea have reached agreement with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Joao Felix

According to reports Chelsea are on the verges of signing Portuguese and Atletico Madrid forward, Joao Felix on loan till end of the season with agreement reached

“Chelsea are set to sign João Félix on loan, here we go! Full verbal agreement reached with Atlético Madrid” Fabrizio Romano confirmed

“Loan move set to be completed on €11m fee until June 2023 with 100% salary covered by Chelsea. Before leaving, João will extend contract with Atletico Madrid until 2027 to protect the club being a loan.” He added.

Chelsea are expected to pay a fee in the region of €11million (£9.68m), which is below what their La Liga counterparts initially wanted.

João Félix will fly to London in the next hours to undergo medical tests and sign the contract very soon.

Chelsea have already been active in the January transfer window, bringing in forward David Datro Fofana from Molde, Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama and defender Benoit Badiashile from Monaco.

This deal doesn’t change anything for Christopher Nkunku who’s gonna become Chelsea player in June.

Felix was not only eyed by Chelsea but a host of other clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and other LaLiga sides. If everything goes as planed, Felix will be a Blue before the week ends.

There is no buy option clause has been discussed as of now, it could be straight loan until June. Fee will be more than €10m with salary covered and taxes as talks accelerated after injuries in the last games
