Erik ten Hag Disagrees With Man United Board On Captain Role Decision

The Dutch is said to still have faith in Harry Maguire and love to have him still the captain in the new era

Harry Maguire has been one of the most underperforming players in the squad if not the most of them all and has shockingly remained the team captain.

The former Leicester City man joined Man United in a whooping-sum transfer move from King Power side under former Man United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who later on made him the team captain just months of his arrival.

The decision to name Maguire the captain clearly didn’t go down well with most members of the squad as it’s even suspected to be the beginning of their problems.

Ole left and Rangnick came but failed to fulfill the fans wish of seeing Maguire stripped off the Captaincy band. Erik ten Hag is already working on this path as he has blocked Maguire’s move to Barcelona.

The Catalans were reported to have already made a move for the English man but Man United turned down their offer with Eric ten Hag already stating his reason.

The former Ajax manager believes Maguire can play a key role in his project for the team and as such do not include him in names to be offloaded.

Meanwhile sources have gathered that the Board at the club are already considering switching the captain as the Defender has failed to impress over and over.

It’s a move that’s backed on the believe that the pressure on him is too much considering the short time he spent at the club before been handed the band. United wish to see him perform fine and if it takes taking off the band from him then they are fine with that.

But Erik ten Hag has reportedly disagreed with this idea, disclosing that he can get the best out of Maguire even with him still in the leadership office.

The Dutch man doesn’t want to cause unrest in the squad by switching captains as he takes everything one step at a time.
