Xavi believes the current Chelsea side are properly drained and will be a tougher side come next season
The 41-year-old believes not having a star man in the Chelsea squad only makes them more difficult to stop.
Chelsea unlike their 2012 UCL victory were the better side last season’s UCL campaign.
Although just like in 2012, they were considered the underdogs but this time around, the Blues bottled every game and bossed every opponents faced.
Dominating most of the game stats and spending more time on opponents halves and former Barcelona midfielder believes this current will do far better than the 2012 squad.
Speaking of the current Chelsea squad, Xavi said; “It’s good that some teams have no clear star.
“Chelsea this season for example, who is the star? You can’t name a standout player.. That just shows how well drilled that team is.”
Some may think Xavi’s comments and shots fired at Chelsea but in actual sense, it clearly means every player in the current Chelsea team is pushing to their peaks.
Players like Mason Mount who had to prove himself twice in one season as Chelsea fired Lampard halfway.
Xavi went on to praise Chelsea as to be the best team currently, stating they can beat a team with Neymar and Mbappe.
“Football isn’t won on paper. We have seen that multiple times. Even with Mbappe and Neymar in the same team, a very balanced Chelsea side is clearly superior.”
