Former Chelsea Player, Mikel Obi Finally Narrates Roman Abramovich Reactions To Poor Results

Mikel Obi in an interview has shared Roman never reacted well whenever he comes to visit when the team is in a bad form

The Roman Empire is one no Chelsea fan will ever forget including the players as Mikel Obi reflects on his playing days.

Mikel played in Chelsea’s midfield for 11 year and made over 240 league appearances before leaving for Tainjin TEDA in 2017.

Winning 9 trophies with Chelsea which included 2 Premier Leagues and 1 Champions League trophy, Mikel can be described as one of the most decorated players to have ever won the Blues shirt.

In a recent interview, Mikel reflected on what it was like to be losing games under Roman Abramovich during his time at Chelsea.

“We always had a meeting with Roman,” Mikel said. “Once the team was not doing well, he came in and had a chat with us. Then he sits down, he has this guy, his friend, who sits with him – he’s the interpreter. And then he starts shouting and screaming in Russian!

“And then the guy interprets what he said in English, and he starts screaming and then goes, ‘You know what, you guys go back now and play football and start winning’.

“If we’re not winning, the next time Roman comes in, he flies in with his helicopter and comes to the training ground and that’s it, we know the manager’s gone. Once he flies in with his helicopter, the manager is gone.”

Roman Abramovich was forced to sell his shares of the club to American Investors Todd Boehly and Co. with the Russian also willingly writing off over £2B debt the club owe to him.
