He Can Still Become A Manchester United Legend – Erik ten Hag Backs Man United Flop For Greater Heights

Erik ten Hag States has shared that Man United flop can still become club legend should things go his way.

Manchester United while getting set for the new season has seen their new manager pick one of the players for greater achievements despite his poor form in the past seasons.

The Red Devils flourished through the pre-season tour with just one draw while winning their other games, including a 4-0 win over Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag since his arrival has been working on implementing his pattern into the squad as it’s a different atmosphere compared to what had been for both him and the club.

A major topic that has raised eyebrows since his arrival has been the captain band which is been held by a player who hasn’t lived up the expectations since arriving Old Trafford; Harry Maguire.

The former Leicester City defender has gone to become one player the Manchester United fan base wish to see benched during matches due to his poor form last season.

Since his arrival, the English defender has gone from bad to worse, especially under the Ralf Rangnick era but according to the new boss, Erik ten Hag, things could go Maguire’s way this season.

Maguire’s body mass gives him advantage over attackers and with the right training and psychological tools applied on him, the player can become a beast in the back zone.

Erik ten Hag believes its not yet game over for the Manchester United Captain who he believes can take same path as Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

Speaking on the defender, ten Hag said; “Maguire is a futuristic asset if he hasn’t already started transforming into the player United saw and banked heavily on him.

“Yes it’s clear that the past seasons hasn’t been that green for him but it still doesn’t delete the chances of him becoming a Manchester United legend.

“He has the body structure, the hugeness defenders desire to have, that is a big advantage to him and I believe if he does the right thing then it’s easier to see him rated among one of the club greats in time to come.”

Manchester United are hoping for a top 4 finish in the 2022/2023 season after a drop off the top form saw them slightly qualifying for the Europa League.
