Erik ten Hag ahead of the new season has already started mapping out his starting eleven after three consecutive friendly games wins
Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag is keen on changing the club fortunes and is as well ready to do whatever it takes.
The past administrations haven’t gone as were expected and as such increased the club’s failure level to their current Europa League state.
It’s clear that a manager as Erik ten Hag isn’t actually focused on Europa League as he is more keen on a UEFA Champions League return but it’s obvious he would push to bring the Europa League trophy back to Old Trafford.
Ahead of the 2022/2023 season, Erik ten Hag has made some vital decisions that will definitely affect some of the big names who aren’t ready to give it all.
Departures have already started with Pogba and Jesse Lingard among the players who have left the squad this summer.
Speaking on the exit, ten Hag disclosed that the environment is only conducive for players who are ready to burn it all for the club.
“It’s about fighting for the badge and name we represent. I planted same mentality in Ajax and we saw how it turned out,” the Dutch man said.
“I don’t force people to do what they don’t want to do because they won’t do it well when they don’t it with their mind. I only work with people that are always ready and eager to do what I want of them.
“We have a big task ahead and I must say this, the club is a big club and in order to maintain a level of sanity, we need only those who are willing to work and play for the badge.
“If there is any player that isn’t ready to burn it all for the badge then he has no place in my squad.
“I have seen players hit their peak and I have seen players hit their low, it all depends on my how determined they are. Less determination leads to poor outcome and same goes for the other way.”
Donny Van de Beek has been out of the squad until Erik ten Hag’s arrival and his involvement in their last match saw him providing a beautiful assist and ten Hag can’t turn blind eyes to that.
Erik ten Hag went on to address that despite his close relationship with Donny Van de Beek, the former Ajax man still has same level of opportunity with the rest of the squad members.
“Donny is a very agile and intelligent player, I have worked with him in the past and am happy to be doing so again but that doesn’t make him more favored than the rest of the squad,” ten Hag continued.
“This is a team that we expect same level of contribution from everyone and we will push hard to achieve that.”
