The Brazilian failed to help his side to a win against Manchester United on Sunday as the Red Devils locked up their defense tight enough
Arsenal suffered their first defeat of the season following a humbling 3-1 defeat on their trip to Old Trafford.
Gabriel Jesus who is the Gunners’ star man failed to Dave them this time around as he faced one the most toughest combat in a Premier League match this season.
From an early time rough tackle on him from Lisandro Martinez to a slam from Scott McTominay which got Arteta scared of a possible injury.
Speaking after the game, Gabriel Jesus went on to applaud the toughest opponent he faced during the game.
According to the Brazilian, Martinez’s stubborn nature in the backline is enough to get him into the Premier League all time XI and next time they meet he will try to perform better.
“It was a good game but not one of those we wish for cause the end wasn’t what we wanted, we played and pushed for a win but it’s sad we didn’t, ” Gabriel Jesus said.
“We came prepared and we tried to fight like we always do, it was just not our game, their defense was a very stubborn one. Martinez is a very stubborn defender and such players make it to the Premier League all time XI.
“These are traits of some of the great defenders, it’s a very tough combat from him but next time we will work hard to win when they come to London.
“Maybe the goal that was ruled out affected us a bit but we could have won, it’s just not our game, we will pick up from where we stopped and start off another good run. We can do it.”
