Antony Santos has out of frustration granted an exclusive interview to Italian reporter, Fabrizio Romano
Manchester United were shocked to learn their €90m bid for the Brazilian winger was turned down by Ajax who at first had set an €80m tag for him.
Like we all know now, Ajax are clearly holding out for €100m which they perceive a better price to sacrifice the talent for.
Antony is already growing so frustrated with the issues at the club and has stopped training with the squad as he is only showing up at the club facilities due to the fine levied on him should be be absent.
The player is now pushing to force himself out of the club and have already pleaded Ajax to sell him as he would be the costliest player in the club history.
Accepting Manchester United €90m bid for the player will see Ajax not only making the highest sale in the league, but will as well cover a significant part of their €120m yearly projected income.
Speaking in an interview with Fabrizio Romano, Antony Santos said; I made it clear, I want to leave the club.
“Today, in a meeting with the club I expressed my old interest in leaving the club. Only this time with a considerable offer on the table. Other offers already arrived, Ajax always refuse.
“Ajax hinders my exit with the argument that they only have 5 days to replace me.
“I am not asking for them to release me. I am asking Ajax to sell me as the highest bid received by a player who plays in the Eredivisie in history. I have been insisting since February.
“I was very happy in Amsterdam. I won titles, made friends. But now I want to follow my story and dreams. People need to listen to me and understand my motivation which moves me towards happiness. I need to continue performing at the highest level.
“I hope Ajax fans understand me. The future of a football player is a totally uncertain thing and the opportunities are unique. So my message is one of gratitude.”
