The Portuguese failed to net a goal for his side as Chelsea thrived against the Rossoneri on Wednesday night
AC Milan slumped to a 3-0 defeat on their trip to Stamford Bridge with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Fofana and Reece James getting on the score sheet.
With them being the weaker side, the Italians hardly got balls in the enemy’s box for Giroud to finish off neither was Leao able to make any impact.
Following the defeat, Leao expressed his frustrations after being matched up against Chelsea talented man who made sure he couldn’t be a threat in the game.
Playing on the right side, Reece James was particularly handed the task of reducing the amount of balls Leao which served as a severe blow to the Italians.
With also a goal to his name, James appeared not only to have frustrated Leao but also did impress him as the 23-year-old confessed he couldn’t be a threat cause James was all over him.
“James is a good player, he was all over me and everywhere at the same time, he timed his runs very fine,” Leao said.
“I hardly talk about opposing players but this guy is actually the toughest I have faced I think.
“He scored a goal too against us and that’s something you don’t get from every defender.
“We just have to focus and finish in a good position now cause the competition was never expected to be easy.
“We slipped last night and we won’t let that hold us back, we will work harder for the next games.”
