I Wanted To Catch Arsenal In The Champions League – Aubameyang Laments After Missing Punishment Plans For Former Club

The former Arsenal man who left North London on a bad term has lamented after missing out chance to meet his former club in the Champions League

Barcelona attacker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has shared his sadness after seeing his former side miss out the UEFA Champions League spot.

Arsenal after a very impressive run slipped at the ending of the 2021/2022 season, warranting Tottenham to frog-jump them.

Gunners will retire to the Europa League in the 2022/2023 season alongside Manchester United who finished below them.

Seeing Arsenal miss the spot after the struggle has left Aubameyang sad, not actually because he missed them but rather he had planned punishment for his former side.

Speaking in a F1 show today, the Gabonese said he is sad Arsenal missed the UCL as he wanted to catch them.

“Really close [to getting in the top four]. I think they made a lot of improvements and I’m a bit sad because I wanted to catch them in the Champions League, I have a lot of friends over there.”

‘But I’m wishing them all the best for next season and obviously, I think it’s going to be a good thing for them to get back to the Europa League as well. Hopefully, they can win it.’
