Manchester United new manager, Erik Ten Hag has appeared ready for the task ahead as he make bold claim on his first press conference for the club.

The Dutch man watched his new side struggle against Crystal Palace as he was sighted in the stand looking very sad from the team’s performance.

The Red Devils suffered a 1-0 defeat on the final day of the Premier League action with their former attacker, netting the home side into victory after cutting into Diogo Dalot and Harry Maguire.

Finishing outside the top 4, Man United won’t be part of the UEFA Champions League next season as Ten Hag tags it a bitter thing that will only give him more time and ease to implement his tactics before they are back in the competition.

Ahead of the 2022/2023 Premier League season, Ten Hag will be looking towards a major contest for glory on the local league before weighing the possibility of chasing the UEFA Champions League trophy.

The former Ajax manager seem not scared of the powers that are already prevailing in the League (Liverpool and Man City) as he sent warning shots to both sides claiming he is out to end an era.

Manchester City retained the Premier League trophy after a sensational come back against Aston Villa, denying second placed Liverpool the opportunity to steal in at the last day with the Reds also pulling off a superb win against Wolves.

“In this moment I admire them [Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp],” Ten Hag said. “I admire them both. They play, in this moment, really fantastic football – both Liverpool and Man City.

“But you will always see that an era can come to an end. I am looking forward to battling with them and I am sure all the other clubs in the Premier League will want to do that.”

“I don’t think about that in this moment,” the 52-year-old continued when asked about United competing for the league. “What we are thinking about is that this is a project.
“That always takes time. But I know that, in this club – and I have experience with other clubs like Ajax and Bayern Munich – this is the toughest length of time. But we want to win, we want to win every game, so we go from game to game and then we will see.”
