Chelsea despite losing out on Jules Kounde could be getting their hands on a better alternative.
The Blues have seen their pursuit for Sevilla back man, Jules Kounde squashed by a push by Barcelona who have now reached agreement with the player.
It’s now clearer that Chelsea will not be signing Jules Kounde despite coming so close to signing him this summer after 2 seasons pursuit.
With that in check, Chelsea have already moved on as they quickly approached Inter Milan for Denzel Dumfries who they perceive as a better alternative.
Dumfries has had a very good spell at Inter Milan and luckily for the Blues, Inter Milan are willing to listen to offers for the Dutch man.
The 26-year-old joined Inter Milan in 2021 after the Serie A side completed a €12.5m transfer deal with his former club, PSV.
Chelsea are hopeful they can land Dumfries before the close of the 2022 summer transfer window and have made approach to Inter Milan.
Somtosport can confirm that Inter Milan has in turn disclosed they will be willing to accept offers not less than €40m for the Defender.
Inter are still in need of cash, especially to fill in on their Lukaku deal with his huge wage payments and selling Dumfries to Chelsea will be a good way to raise cash.
The Italian side are waiting on Chelsea before any further step as the Blues now have the ball in their court and how fast they act determines how hungry they are to achieve achieve success in the 2022/2023 season.
Do you see Denzel Dumfries as an upgrade or downgrade from Jules Kounde?
