It Doesn’t Matter If We Are In A Race For Top Four – Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel and his men lost to a relegation battling Everton in a disappointing 1-0 score line

Chelsea trip to Everton’s home side ended in total disappointment for the visitors.

The Blues now sit 4 points ahead of 4th placed Tottenham Hotspur while Everton are now 2 points inside the relegation zone with an outstanding game to play.

Cesar Azpilicueta produced his second error-leading-to-goal in two weeks after going 10-years without any.

Following the defeat, Tuchel held his conference.

🔹Thomas Tuchel on if Chelsea have an issue in attack: “If there is something I could do, I would try it. The key for me is to have a clean sheet.

“It’s a different game against Man United, the game was more open and there were more chances.

“This was like the game against West Ham, we had a clean sheet and played without any big mistakes.

“If you fall behind against an atmopshere like this, install belief in the opponents team, you struggle.”

🔹Thomas Tuchel on why he did not bring on Romelu Lukaku: “Because we brought Jorginho off. We only had three changes.”

🔹Thomas Tuchel on Chelsea’s top four race: “I said it weeks ago. I feel never safe. And it doesn’t matter if we are in a race for top four, the last four games is not enough. Four points is never enough no matter the race we are in.”

🔹Thomas Tuchel on Everton’s aggression: “They got away with a lot and the referee decided to manage the game how he did.

“I was not too happy with it, that’s why it’s important not to do big mistakes, give belief & to keep doing what we do on the highest level.”

🔹Thomas Tuchel on Chelsea preferred bidder: “I would like if you could ask me the question next press conference. After a game, I have no feeling about the preferred bidder.”
