Just In: Thomas Tuchel Sends Message To Todd Boehly Following FA Cup Loss

Chelsea did on Saturday lost another cup final to Liverpool following yet another penalty shoot out

Blues failed to produce the desired winning as they went full time plus extra time without conceding nor registering any goal at Wembley.

In a game that clearly appeared very tough for both sides, luck had to play a role to decide the winner as the two teams missed a lot of chances.

Thomas Tuchel is sad to see his side pods yet another final despite his magical set up that appeared to have taken effect immediately.

Not really a bad game for Chelsea but their inability to convert goals saw their hopes reduced for nothing.

Romelu Lukaku failed to hit a target while Christian Pulisic was over the places misfiring. Reuben Lotus-Cheek coming on as a false nine would have been a brilliant idea if the English man was more engaged in the game, Tuchel wasted no time in taking him off.

Speaking after the game, Tuchel sent a message via an interview to the new owner, Todd Boehly as he made mention clearly why Chelsea may not be able to still compete on same level with City and Liverpool next season.

“We have everything it takes to win trophies, we proved it by the way,” Tuchel said after the FA cup final loss.

“We have a Club World Cup and a European Super Cup and I don’t feel sorry this was at the beginning of the season and in winter.

“We were good in UCL, strong in both domestic cups, we can produce peak performances and we have the mentality in the club to shape the mentality of the players, but Man City and Liverpool have shown you need this on a consistency.

“We proved four times this season that we can produce peak performances to compete with them at this kind of level.

“All the results were deserved and could’ve gone our way or their way. The difference for me throughout the season is they can do it Wednesday-Saturday, Wednesday-Saturday.

“They arrived with a big squad, everybody but Fabinho, in a good rhythm. We had many players out and N’Golo with one training session and Mateo playing with an ankle that I didn’t know it was possible to fit into a shoe. This is where the gap comes from.”

In summary, all Tuchel mean is that Chelsea need a more consistent squad to be able to compete on a higher level.

This implies landing more payers this summer, more players that can easily fit into the squad when the regulars are injured.

Just like Manchester City and Liverpool have a large squad with plenty super subs that can turn up and impress in games.

A clear example is watching Chelsea results decline after Benjamin Chilwell and Reece James were both out on injury.

Todd Boehly has already been disclosed of being very willing to pump in the required cash to fortify the squad for major competitions next season.

Despite the season being just two games until the end for Chelsea, it’s not yet rest time as the Blues will need one more victory to finish in the top 4.

Arsenal are chasing in with 4 points behind while Tottenham are a single point behind Arsenal on the 5th place, which they both can still qualify for the UEFA Champions League at the expense of Chelsea.
