Juventus vs Empoli Team News, Injury Update and Possible Lineup

Juventus vs Empoli Match Preview as The Blues visit Allianz Stadium

It has been an incredibly disappointing opening period of the season for Maximiliano Allegri and Juventus, although last weekend’s 1-0 win away to Torino in the Turin derby has cooled off some of the negative noise surrounding the club.

Their European campaign have not exactly gone as planned either; last week’s shocking 2-0 loss to Maccabi Haifa in Israel put them on the verge of elimination from the UCL group stage.

Juventus will be aiming to move up to seventh in the table when they host Empoli, especially as a win would move them above their fiercest rivals Inter Milan in the table.

However, having begun the season in better form as not expected after comfortably surviving their first season back in Serie A in the last campaign, Empoli can jump one spot to ninth should they pull off a shocking victory at Turin.

Their 1-0 win against Monza last weekend moved Paolo Zanetti’s side six points clear of the dead zone and into the top half of the table ahead of their trip on Friday.

In order to give his team the best chance of success against Juventus on Friday, Zanetti will almost implement a similar gameplan  from the last fixture

Juventus vs Empoli Injury Update

Juventus have a bucket filled list of injured players: Mattia De Sciglio (thigh injury), Marley Ake (broken leg), Federico Chiesa (knee injury), Angel Di Maria (muscle injury), D Peeters (muscle injury) and Kaio Jorge (knee injury) all remain sidelined. Bremer could also miss out due to a thigh strain sustained against Torino, with Leonardo Bonucci likely to replace him.

However, Paul Pogba has returned to training following the knee injury which has prevented the France midfielder from making his second debut for the club since re-joining from Manchester United in the summer, but he is unlikely to start the match at this early stage of his recovery.

Meanwhile, Empoli is not fit to the brim neither as they may travel without Ardian Ismajli, Lorenzo Tonelli, Alberto Grassi, Stubljar and Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro due to injuries as well

Zanetti will unlikely make any adjustments to the starting lineup that defeated Monza last game, although he might be convinced to add another defender to the lineup to strengthen the team’s defense.
