Kobbie Mainoo Yet To Play A Single Minute as England Reach World Cup Semi-Finals
Kobbie Mainoo remains on the sidelines at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the Manchester United midfielder still waiting for his first appearance despite England's impressive run to the semi-finals.

The 21-year-old was included in Thomas Tuchel's squad after earning a late call-up, but he has yet to feature in any of England's matches.
Mainoo has watched from the bench as the Three Lions progressed through the knockout rounds, defeating Mexico and Norway to book a place in the last four.

England's midfield has been orchestrated by established names including Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice, while Tuchel has also preferred other options when making changes during matches.
Mainoo who made the English squad that omitted names like Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and a host of others , is among the few outfield players in the squad who at yet to feature a single minute while hoping for a World Cup debut.

The lack of playing time comes as a disappointment for the Manchester United youngster, who was widely regarded as one of England's brightest midfield prospects following his breakthrough at club level.

Mainoo’s composure, ball retention and ability to dictate the tempo earned him praises in recent seasons, but opportunities has been limited for the Manchester United’ man on football's biggest stage.
With England preparing for a mouthwatering semi-final against Argentina, Mainoo's hopes of featuring remain alive. Victory would guarantee the Three Lions another match in the final, while defeat would still leave a third-place play-off, giving the midfielder another opportunity to make his long-awaited World Cup debut.
Whether Tuchel decides to hand Mainoo his first minutes remains to be seen, but for now, the young midfielder continues to wait patiently as England edge closer to their dream of lifting the World Cup.
