Liverpool Captain Van dijk expressed so much thoughts after the weekend’s Derby victory.

The reds side grabbed a 2-0 victory over 10 men Everton in the 12:30pm kickoff at Anfield which saw them move to the top of the Premier League Table for a while.

Jurgen Klopp’s side had only lost once to their Merseyside neighbors in the Premier League prior to today’s game and this gave them some boost going into the game.

Although Liverpool came out at the top but the Merseyside game was always a tough one with a lot of intriguing actions taking place in the pitch.

Liverpool held the possession right from the first minutes but still find it difficult to score against Everton even when they went down to 10 men.

It was the two goals from Mo Salah that made the difference for both teams in the second half to seal Liverpool’s effort in the game.

As the teams captain Van Dijk had a lot of praise to sing towards the teams effort.

“There has been a transition but also in the way we play. We have different players with different qualities. What helps is we are having not many injuries. Everyone is playing quite well.”

“Everyone at the end last season was so drained if I am being honest. We had a short break in the summer. Pre season was very good. We started on Germany and then a commercial tour. You can sense a new vibe and new energy in the club.”

Van Dijk on Salah: “Everyone played a good game. We need goalscorers and he is one of them.”

“Great players do (step up). He continues to step up, that’s what we need. I’m very pleased for him.”

Van Dijk on Liverpool going at the top: “That could change in a few hours. What matters is we won today, quite comfortably in my opinion.”
