Liverpool Defender, Van Dijk Discloses Why He Believes Chelsea Will Win The Premier League

Virgil Van Dijk has shared his opinion as he discloses the difficulty Liverpool would face in retaining the Premier League title this season

Liverpool back man, Virgil Van Dijk is of the opinion that Chelsea could end the season at the top of the table after Blues fought their way into the top of the table.

The Reds suffered their a huge on their visit to West London following a stunning display from West Ham United who produced a pleasing 3-2 victory.

Sitting a point behind the Hammers, Van Dijk believes this season would present a tougher competition following how it’s already shaping out to be.

With also the presence of managers like Thomas Tuchel who get his first full season with Blues after winning the UCL last season upon inheriting the club halfway.

In an interview with the Premier League, Van Dijk shared that he believes Liverpool can end up not winning the league this season following the level of competition available presently.

He further went on to make shocking admission of Chelsea being a side that could end up at the top after they took an early lead.

Blues made their way to the top of the league table with sad loses from both Manchester City and a stunning display from Brighton against Liverpool as both sides dropped points that very week to see Chelsea holding on stronger to the top.

“If you look at the league this season, you can see every team is out to win something. The level of competition has grown greater,” Van Dijk said.

“Last season it wasn’t so, managers like Tuchel weren’t here but with them here now, it’s sure a bigger competition.

“Chelsea is a very good side and they have managed to get to the top of the league, it’s so sad we are fighting to get back to the top.

“It’s possible Chelsea can finish at the top and win the league, they have a good team, but we can still take over if we work harder than they do.

“The break is good for everyone I think. We can use that to our advantage and fight with new spirit and new energy. We can bring in new level of competition and reclaim our spot.
