FIFA have released an official statement amid the oncoming World Cup Qualifiers
Manchester United will be one of the teams to be affected following the latest press release from FIFA amid the World Cup Qualifiers.
United suffered a disappointing draw in their last game but hoping to bounce back with Edinson Cavani remaining a doubt for the game today.
The Uruguayan is keen to represent his national side in the upcoming competitions at the expense of the club side.
United still have Marcus Rashford yet to fully recover while Anthony Martial isn’t seeing his prime, leaving the whole number 9 role to young Mason Greenwood.

Cavani’s presence is already needed in opponents’ boxes, just like the last game clearly interpreted.
But with the recent statement from FIFA, it’s clear the Uruguayan may not be returning to action anytime soon for United.
FIFA statement: “We now expect the release of players for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers in South America to occur in accordance with the recent FIFA decision, the legality and legitimacy of which has today been recognised in today’s CAS ruling.”
United are now expected to release both Fred and Edison Cavani who come from South America to head home for their national duties.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to make the squad but likely to be available by the next game when the club face Newcastle United.
