João Pedro Cavaco Cancelo has officially joined Manchester City in completion of a swap deal which saw former Real Madrid man, Danilo go the other way.

Cancelo started out in 2007 when he joined Benfica youth team at the age of 13 and made his first debut on July 28, 2012 as a right back despite being also considered as left back too.

On August 22, 2014, the Portuguese relocated to Spain, joining Valencia on a year loan which he made permanent on May 25, 2015 and was set to be tied to The Oranges till 2021 as the Spanish side paid his €15m price tag.

Joao’s marriage to The Bats didn’t last long as he was loaned to Inter Milan on a one-year contract that involved French Geoffrey Kondogbia as exchange.

Also had little time with Inter Milan as Juventus quickly hijacked him less than two months for his contract to end after convincing him to put his signature on a contract paper that would have him bound to the Old Lady for 5 years starting from June 27, 2018.

Now Pep Guardiola believes the defender is urgently needed at Etihad stadium as they set to shut the transfer window. Convincing Juventus wasn’t actually a big task for Manchester City who quickly offered former Real Madrid man, Danilo Luiz da Silva for the second time after been rejected earlier this summer on the same deal.

Danilo’s 5 years contract with Manchester City have just been cut short as Juventus have found him worth having since he will be arriving with cash too.

The Brazilian has joined Juventus who also got paid €30m for Joao Cancelo to come over at Etihad Stadium. Danilo left not because he was no more needed at Etihad but he wanted more playtime than Pep could offer him.
