Manchester United To Submit Bid For An Attacking Right-Back As They Search For Bissaka’s Competitor.
Manchester United have made a new right-back one of their priorities for the summer window as they search for competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Though Wan-Bissaka has impressed as the first-choice in the position, it is felt that a more attacking option is needed when United come up against teams playing with a low defensive block.
One option who has long been eyed by United to fill that gap is Kieran Trippier, who won La Liga this season with Atletico Madrid.
The 30-year-old has impressed under Diego Simeone, becoming Atletico’s first-choice right-back and earning a place in the England squad for Euro 2020.
United did make plans to launch a bid for the Englishman in the January transfer window, but those were halted when Trippier was hit with a suspension for betting infractions.
But now the Manchester Evening News report that United have revived their interest in Trippier and are now “considering” submitting a bid in coming days.
