Arsenal reported midfield target is Manuel Locatelli as talks of replacing Granit Xhaka at the Emirates Stadium intensifies.
Granit Xhaka is reportedly close to an exit away from the Emirates Stadium in a deal which will see him join Jose Mourinho’s Roma and Arsenal have already began preparations to replace the swiss international.
The Gunners are reportedly in talks to sign Sassuolo midfield maestro, Manuel Locatelli and a bid have already been prepared.
Locatelli was a top target for Arsenal back in 2016 when he played for AC Milan at the age of 18 but an agreement couldn’t be reached with the Italian Giants.
However, He[Locatelli] is now 23 years of age and have played club football consistently gaining experiences and is now also a senior Italy international.
The Italy International have now been linked with moves to Juventus and Manchester City but it would appear that Arsenal are now ready to make their first offer to sign him as replacement for Granit Xhaka.
According to recent reports, the Gunners are ready to offer €40m (£34m) for Locatelli as Mikel Arteta looks to seal the club’s first deal of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal will be hoping they can get the deal over the line especially as the 23-year-old has already sent a transfer message to potential suitors.
“It’s just talk. I will decide after the European Championship,” he said.
“There’s such an important competition to play in, and I’m only focused on this.
“I rely on what happens on the pitch, the real things, everything else is just gossip, it’s useless to talk about it.” He added.
