Marcus Rashford has made his Manchester United plans clear with a fresh transfer admission.
The England international rose through the Red Devils’ academy ranks before bursting onto the scene as a teenager.
Having wrapped up his sixth season in senior football with United, Rashford is now one of the most established talents in the Premier League.
Having been with the club since he was seven years old, the forward is a firm fan favourite among United fans.
So when asked if he ever wanted to leave the club, though he could not rule out a potential exit, it appears that he has no plans to leave Old Trafford in the near future, and even wants to retire a United legend.
“I think of course I’d like to but I think in football nowadays, things happen unexpectedly,” he said during a fan Q&A with United’s official website.
“You can never be 100 per cent sure – one, you’re going to be replaced and the club might want to sign somebody else, or maybe the style doesn’t suit you anymore.
“Maybe the style of football has changed so there are many things that can change throughout the duration of 10-15 years.
“For me, I hope to be able to play at this club for as long as possibly can and retire where I started.”
Last month, Rashford said he could not rule out an exit from Old Trafford, and admitted that he would like to one day play for Spanish giants Real Madrid or Barcelona due to their immense popularity.
“I would never say no,” Rashford told The Guardian.
“Other than United? I’m a big fan of Real Madrid and Barcelona, because they’ve always had great players and played attractive football.
“Everybody watches Real Madrid and Barcelona.”
During the Q&A, Rashford was also asked if he felt any extra pressure in wearing the iconic no. 10 shirt.
He replied: “I feel privileged to wear this shirt that has been worn by so many great players in United’s history. You know, for me, I don’t feel the pressure.
“It’s just about carrying on following in people’s footsteps and people’s journeys really. But I’m my own player. I do things my way.
“I’m going to improve in my own way, which is obviously slightly different to the other players, they all have different qualities and reached different heights in their careers.
“Hopefully, I can be here long enough to do that myself as well.”Related：
