Arsenal have been miserable this season. Mikel Arteta has had a torrid season in charge of Arsenal.
Having been knocked out of the Europa League at the semi-final stage earlier this month by Villareal, the gunners are now set to be without European football for the first time since 1995.
This is arguably the worst Arsenal side in 25 years and counting and head coach Mikel Arteta have admitted his side have been poor this season.
‘I understand [fans’] concerns because when you are out of the Champions League for five years it is not just a casualty, it’s a trend,’ he said.
‘There are facts to support that trend. So, there are things to change, that’s for sure because you know no one is going to accept that at this football club.
I am not going to accept that, and the fans are not going to accept that. So we all have to push together to achieve something very different.’
Arsenal’s hierarchy have reportedly made a decision and according to reports, have no intention of dismissing Mikel Arteta as manager in the near future.
However, a deadline have been issued. Arsenal’s plan is to hand him funds to buy quality players in the summer.
If results fails to improve by the end of the year he will be out of the job, Somotosports understands.
