The Blues have confirmed a temporal departure of one of their talented defenders
Chelsea have seen many players leave this summer, both on permanent and temporal deals.
The last name to have departed before today was Tammy Abraham who joined AS Roma on a permanent deal after the arrival of Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku taking the number 9 spot necessitated Abraham’s departure despite being a difficult decision for the academy graduate.

The Italian joined Olympic Lyon on a season long loan.
Confirming the transfer deal, Chelsea wrote on their website; “After coming off the bench for the final few minutes of last weekend’s 3-0 Premier League victory against Crystal Palace, he will now spend the season with Lyon, who have one point from their opening two league matches this term and will play in the Europa League.”
Emerson’s contract was extended until the June 2023 before completing the move to France with Lyon set to pay £500k loan fee to Chelsea.
