The Englishman picked up an Achilles injury during Chelsea encounter with the Old Lady on Tuesday
Blues could see one of their own sidelined for the rest of the season following injury on Ben Chilwell.
Juventus were served a resounding beat by the Host on Tuesday night show against Chelsea and the Old Lady.
With goals coming from Reece James, Timo Werner, Trevor Chalobah and Callum Hudson-Odoi to put Chelsea on level points with Juventus.
Sitting on the top of the Group H, Chelsea sealed their qualification into the knockout stages and currently focused on their encounter with arc rivals, Manchester United.
But Thomas Tuchel would have a tough call to make when he will field Marcos Alonso against a recovering Red Devils who managed a 2-0 win against Villarreal on Tuesday night.
Ben Chilwell’s injury only presents Marcos Alonso with the opportunity to reclaim a spot in the Chelsea starting eleven after losing out to the 24-year-old.
According to sources, it’s now known that Chilwell will be out for the rest of 2021. The recovery period is also said likely to take off a huge part of the remainder of the current season.
Although this isn’t known for sure yet, but what’s currently certain is that Chilwell won’t be available for the rest of the year.
Chelsea will be looking to produce a resounding victory against Manchester United on Sunday with Romelu Lukaku back in action.
The Belgian has been out of action through injury but will be hoping to make an appearance when Blues welcome United at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
