Chelsea manager has hinted on who he believes could be his pick as next Chelsea Captain

Blues could be seeing a swap in Captaincy following latest comments from Thomas Tuchel ahead of their game against Russian side, Zenith Saint Petersburg.

Cesar Azpilicueta although still remaining the captain and likely to continue until he leaves Chelsea, may see a little change in the night against Zenith Saint Petersburg.

According to Tuchel, Azpilicueta could be rested against Zenith alongside Jorginho who feels pain on his back.

With this in mind, Tuchel went on to share that he is yet to decide on who takes the captain band but have a player in consideration already.

Speaking ahead of the game, Tuchel said; “Maybe we rest Azpilicueta, maybe he will play tonight. We just need everyone in good shape during the weekend game.

“There are some injuries already in the squad and it’s affecting us. We hope they all recover quickly.

“Jorginho feels pains on his back and we don’t know if he can be back soon but we hope so.

“Maybe tonight Reece James can’t be captain and have the big duty. Maybe someone else.

“It’s still undecided but I hope we can come to a conclusion real quick.

“We want to win this night because that way, we can regain full confidence. It looks like the confidence is becoming low.”
