Thomas Tuchel Makes Kepa Decision Amid Mendy’s Recent Form

The Blues after all their efforts still had to leave the UEFA Champions League as Mendy conceded 2 goals just after the side went up 3 goals at Santiago Bernabeu

The game on Tuesday night produced lesser goals for Real Madrid not because Mendy was on his top form, but rather the defense was so tight.

But sure it isn’t the work of the defense alone to stop goal, also the keeper plays a key role and conceding two on Tuesday was actually letting his side down.

Edouard Mendy is yet to return to a top form following the Real Madrid second leg clash.

The Senegalese’s woes started right at Brentford game where he conceded a whooping 4 against a newly promoted side.

While hopes were still high in him, Mendy went on to concede another 3 against Real Madrid.

But with the defense pulling off a great stunt, it appeared as if the team is back in shape both for Mendy against Southampton where Chelsea gapped 6 ahead of the home side.

But returning to UCL, during their visit to Spain, Mendy bagged another 2 goals against his side, kicking them out of the UEFA Champions League race, rubbishing every efforts his attackers already made to put them 3 up.

In reaction to this, it’s been said inside the club that Tuchel would make a quick adjustment in the squad.

Edouard Mendy is expected to be dropped for the next game against Crystal Palace while Kepa gets into the goal post.

This is believed to be a move that will help speed the former Rennes man back to form in order to reclaim the spot.

Kepa who have been training for a while now without making any appearance would be glad to represent with a target of claiming the number one spot.

Tuchel’s side are now left with the FA Cup to fight for after crashing out of the UCL and Premier League title race.

The club will also be waiting to learn of their new owners as the final day for the bid approaches.
