Thomas Tuchel Names 3 Players Who Helped Bayern Win ‘Difficult’ Galatasary Match

Bayern Munich extended their superb UCL record of 17 away wins in a row despite Tuchel admitting the game was a difficult one

The Bavarians struggled to find their foot in the first half despite opening the score lines through a superb goal from Kingsley Coman with Maurio Icardi stepping up later for Galatasary to convert from the penalty spot.

Thomas Tuchel’s men needed the break in order to be able to regain shape and approached the second half in a better spirit as they ended the game netting more 2 goals with Jamaal Musiala and Harry Kane booked their spots on the sheet.

It was another night for Harry Kane to score another goal in his new club but according to the Boss, there were other players who played more significant roles in the victory against Galatasaray.

Speaking to Somtosport after the match, Tuchel said; “Very important win and well done by our team. For us it’s very special to win in the stadium because we had a lot of problem in the first half and didn’t have many chances.

“In the second half we defended very deep and good timing even up front on the wings with Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Jamal Musiala. They helped us alot to turn the game aside.”

Kingsley Coman was named man of the match yesterday following his superb display against the Turks. Musiala on the other end has of late seen a lot of interest from other top flight teams but it’s unlikely Tuchel will let the youngster leave.

Galatasaray did indeed pull surprising stunts at Bayern Munich, holding them to a half time draw and even been the better side. The home side produced a shocking 16 shots on target stats despite being the underdogs.

However they failed to nail it to the end as that’s what is more important to Tuchel who admitted the difficulty of the game against Galatasaray.

“We have seen something like that before, it was a deserved win for us,” Tuchel said of his team facing 16 shots on target against Gala.

“Yes I have been lucky that I have been coaching alot of dominating team and of course its possible because this is a strong team too and we went on our first half and didn’t play well but Gala did play well. It’s important to us that we showed reaction, so it’s a deserving win.

“We were happy with the draw at half time because we weren’t as good as we should be but it’s important that we win it in the end because it’s not easy to win away in the Champions League but in the end we win it and it’s more important than anything to us.”

Mauricio Icardi was expected not to make the appearance against Bayern following his injury fear but the Argentine shocked everyone by even netting a goal for Galatasaray when he started out.

Icardi isn’t stranger to Thomas Tuchel who expressed that his knowledge about the 30-year-old did help him stay one step ahead of them as he admits expecting Icardi to start.

“How surprising he was on the pitch today, but there are different ways to approach the game,” Tuchel said.

“I know that Icardi is good with pains and he can play very good with pains, indeed I expected him to play and we also tried to prepare for that and we did of course.”
