Timo Werner won penalties leading to victories in their last two games as Blues are now 1 point away from the top 4
Chelsea managed another win yesterday night after Timo Werner won Jorginho an opportunity to put his side ahead of Sheffield United.
The German struggled under the former manager and although is yet to find his scoring form but his contributions now are way more than before.
Werner has been involved in all of Chelsea’s winning goals in their last 2 games with the last handing him the man of the match honor.
The 24-year-old’s efforts and contributions in the game can’t be over looked as he almost netted a goal also and provided assist to Mason Mount’s opening goal.
In response to his good form lately, Timo Werner immediately fired the credit to his new manager to seem to have made a slight change to his role in the squad.
Frank Lampard mainly used the German as a winger but according to Werner he no more fields as a Winger.
Speaking on his new role under Tuchel, the former Leipzig man said; “Every manager is different, he (Tuchel) gives us a lot of ideas.
“I play as a left 10, not a winger,” he continued. “So I have more space in the middle, I play behind a striker or with a 10 behind me, it’s very good for me.”
Thomas Tuchel also had made this known before now during the team he talked of better positioning for Werner.
Chelsea hope to continue their fine run when they battle Barnsley for the FA Cup campaign on Thursday.
