Tuchel believes his predecessor, Lampard should be applauded despite poor run of form before sack
Spectacular Tuchel claims Frank Lampard laid the foundation for Chelsea’s current unstoppable form, thanking him for “laying the foundations” of the club’s exceptional run to both the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup Final.
Tuchel led the almost dilapidated Chelsea to beat both Atletico and Real Madrid over two legs to book an all-English final with Manchester City.
Tuchel has already shelved two victories against Manchester city, the soon to be crowned English champions, since taking over from Lampard in January.
The German can hope for a double if he leads Chelsea to FA cup victory over Leicester City on Saturday.
Lampard led Chelsea through an unbeaten Champions League group stage, with four wins and two draws, conceding only two goals.

He was however dismissed due to his miserable Premier League run, dangling between the two halves of the premier League table, despite his high summer spending.
Tuchel has now positioned Chelsea on third in the premier League table, with two finals to boast of, reflecting Lampard’s “amazing” work at the beginning of the season.
“Frank had an amazing record in the group stage of the Champions League,” Tuchel said, “[He] won all the FA Cup games. He’s laid the foundation to get us to finals and I will never forget it, we don’t feel ashamed or have any fear to speak it out loud.
“It felt like that on the first day. I am aware Frank created his own legacy as a player and make it bigger as a coach. We stepped in halfway through the season and tried to fulfil the job he had began.”
Tuchel spoke with Lampard shortly after replacing him at Chelsea, but they have not spoken again since.
“Frank resembles everything you think about Chelsea,” said the former PSG boss. “You think about Frank Lampard, the way he is, how he played football.
“This shows his character and the message he sent was a pleasure to receive. We had a message a couple of days after we arrived but nothing more”, he added.
