Chelsea are keen to defend the UEFA Champions League just three months after lifting the silverware as group stages draw sets to hold today
The UEFA Champions League group stages draw is set to hold today in Turkey just three months after the competition was concluded and Chelsea crowned Champions.
Following the shocking results from several top flight teams, there are now higher chances Chelsea would face new opponents in their group stage.
Having won their previous campaign and also going on to win the Super Cup following penalty shootout victory against Villarreal, Chelsea are the leading team in Pot 1.
Other teams in the same pot includes Villarreal, Atletico Madrid who stunned the La Liga to become champions, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan who ended Juventus long reign in the Serie A, Lille who took over the league crown from PSG, Manchester City and Sporting Lisbon from Portugal.
