Chelsea were key to Real Madrid’s knockout from the UEFA Champions League last season before heading into the finals to produce a 1-0 win against Manchester City, claiming their second UCL trophy.

One player who has had the courage to open up about his grudge is the Brazilian youngster, Vinicius who is also looking towards netting his first goal against Edouard Mendy.

“The draw is fair and isn’t manipulated so there is no excuse because it was randomly picked and we are happy with that,” Vinicius said to AS Marca.

“Chelsea is a tough side, as tough as every other team remaining in the competition. We are tough too and we know what we can do.

“Last season didn’t end so well for us, especially in the Champions League because we were unfortunate and Chelsea the better side.

“We have done our assignment as a team and we have clearly improved. Last time, it was hard to even find a space to fire a shot against their keeper but this season it won’t be same.

“We will do everything possible to break them and go into the semi finals because we want to get to the finals and win the trophy.

Asked about what he thinks about Chelsea keeper and his abilities in front of dangerous attackers, Vinicius continued; “Yes, he is a very good keeper, everyone has seen that but he is an opponent and it’s my duty to score against him.

“I will make sure I do, as it will be great thing for us as a team, if we score goals against them, then we are favorites to go into the semis.

“But before then, we have El Classico and we have to win that first, we have a lot of works to do and we will do our best.

“Barcelona is not the easy opponents to be relaxed about and we are well aware of that. They have Xavi back and they are doing even better than they were. We will be clinical.”
