Zinedine Zidane Drops Prediction On Chelsea Real Madrid Champions League Match

The former Real Madrid manager has shared his prediction ahead of the Champions League match against his former side and Chelsea

Zidane believes the match against Chelsea won’t be an easy one for Real Madrid, neither will it be for Chelsea.

The Blues will have to fight harder if they want a victory against Los Blancos according to former Real Madrid manager, Zidane.

Zidane saw his side evicted from the Champions League last season by Chelsea while he was still manager at Santiago Bernabeu.

It indeed taught Zidane a tough lesson and also disclosed how much of a threat the Blues are to Spanish teams as they have also had rough pasts with Barcelona.

Chelsea did not only win Real Madrid last season but also did dominate them significantly until the end of the game.

With Thomas Tuchel still in charge at Stamford Bridge, it’s vivid the Blues will likely repeat this feat but how easy will it be with another manager now in control of Madrid.

Speaking in a podcast, Zidane said; “Chelsea is a very tough battle, it wasn’t easy for me back then and I don’t expect it to be easy for anyone.

“They have hungry players, very young and with a very good manager who is so wise when it comes to tactics.

“Madrid have a good squad too, they did well with the signings this winter, they have a good manager too who has put up a good fight to even win against PSG.

“I don’t expect any easy match for either of the teams, Chelsea want a win? They must fight hard for it, Real Madrid want it? Then they must sweat heavy for it.

“I think it will be a 50/50 chance because Chelsea want to make history for themselves and Real Madrid want to reclaim the throne we left years ago.

“Both teams have what they are chasing to gain and what they also stand to lose so it’s mainly up to the players now to make their managers proud.”
