At 37, Aubameyang Is Turning Back the Clock at Deportivo

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may be 37 years old, but the Gabonese striker is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.

Since joining Deportivo La Coruña, the veteran forward has produced an extraordinary start to life back in LaLiga, scoring in each of his first four league appearances — a club record.

Aubameyang has already found the net four times in four LaLiga matches, while also contributing crucial assists. His most complete performance came in Deportivo's dramatic 3–2 victory over Villarreal, where he provided two assists before scoring the decisive 87th-minute winner.

Even more remarkable is his efficiency. After four matchdays, Aubameyang had scored four goals from just 13 shots, matching Kylian Mbappé's tally despite the Frenchman needing 31 attempts.

And his numbers aren't merely impressive for a 37-year-old — they are historic. Aubameyang has now reached 250 goals in Europe's top five leagues, making him the highest-scoring African player in the history of those competitions, moving ahead of Mohamed Salah, Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba.

Deportivo returned to LaLiga after an eight-year absence, and Aubameyang has immediately become the face of their resurgence.
