Barcelona Prepare Surprise Luis Suárez Swoop Amid Álvarez Uncertainty

According to reports, the 28-year-old is being considered as a potential alternative should the Álvarez operation ultimately fail, with head coach Hansi Flick said to have approved the idea.

Suárez has established himself as an important attacking figure at Sporting. After joining the Portuguese club in 2025, he enjoyed an impressive campaign, reportedly scoring 28 goals in 32 league appearances. His goalscoring form has made him an increasingly attractive option for clubs searching for a proven centre-forward.

Barcelona’s interest also reflects the urgency surrounding their attacking department.
