Cameroon Shock Nigeria At Half-Time Through Nyadjou Myriam’s Stunning Strike
Cameroon have stunned defending champions Nigeria by taking a 1–0 lead into half-time of their WAFCON 2026 quarter-final clash in Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaounde.

The Indomitable Lionesses have frustrated the Super Falcons with disciplined defending, leaving Nigeria facing a tense second half with their WAFCON title defence hanging in the balance.
Myriam Maéva Nyadjou Wamen produced a moment of brilliance in the 19th minute, finding the breakthrough to put the Indomitable Lionesses ahead and leave the Super Falcons facing a major fightback in the second half.

Nigeria have enjoyed slightly more possession but have struggled to turn their control into clear-cut opportunities. Cameroon, meanwhile, have defended their advantage with discipline and frustrated the reigning champions.
The Super Falcons now have 45 minutes to rescue their tournament and keep their title defence alive, while Cameroon will look to protect their precious lead and complete a major upset.
With a place in the semi-finals at stake, the second half promises to be a tense battle between two of Africa’s biggest women’s football powers.
