The message is simple.

Tottenham are no longer thinking about survival. They want to compete again.

De Zerbi has built a reputation as one of football's most exciting coaches. At Sassuolo, Brighton and Bayer Leverkusen, his teams became known for dominating possession, building attacks patiently from the back and playing fearless, attacking football. He also has a strong reputation for improving players and helping young talents reach another level.

But this Tottenham project looks slightly different.

Instead of signing only young prospects, Spurs have added proven winners and experienced leaders. Robertson, Senesi and Dubravka bring experience, while Tonali adds quality, leadership and control in midfield. Mateus Fernandes represents the future, and Van Hecke strengthens a defence that struggled badly last season.

The biggest question is whether all this spending will be enough.

Money alone does not guarantee success. Tottenham have spent heavily before without winning major trophies. De Zerbi now faces the challenge of turning expensive signings into a winning team.

The encouraging sign for Spurs fans is that De Zerbi is not known for relying on individual stars. His teams work as a unit, press aggressively and attack with confidence.

Reports also suggest the Italian believes Tottenham's rebuild is not yet complete, with further signings still expected before the transfer window closes.
