JDT Make Football History With World-Record 109-Match Unbeaten Run
Johor Darul Ta’zim have set a new world record after reaching 109 consecutive league matches without defeat, surpassing ASEC Mimosas’ 108-game unbeaten streak.

Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have made football history after extending their unbeaten league run to an incredible 109 matches, setting a new world record for the longest unbeaten streak in men’s top-flight league football.
The Malaysian champions reached the historic milestone with a convincing 3-0 victory over Kuching City in their opening match of the new season.
JDT’s remarkable run stretches back to April 2021, when they last suffered defeat in a league fixture. Since then, the club have gone unbeaten throughout four consecutive Malaysian Super League campaigns, establishing themselves as the dominant force in Malaysian football.

The previous record was held by Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas, who went 108 league matches without defeat between 1989 and 1994. JDT have now surpassed that mark, creating a new benchmark that will be difficult to match.
The club’s ambitions have also grown beyond domestic dominance. Former Liverpool and Spain midfielder Luis Garcia is part of the club’s leadership as CEO, while former Watford manager Xisco Munoz is in charge of the team.
JDT have also attracted international attention recently. Earlier this month, they held Premier League giants Chelsea to an entertaining 3-3 draw at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium during Chelsea’s pre-season tour.
With 109 league matches unbeaten and counting, JDT have firmly placed their name in football history.
