Jude Bellingham has shown that he has not forgotten where his football journey began after attending pre-season matches involving both of his former clubs this summer.

The Real Madrid midfielder returned to England during his break and visited Birmingham City, the club where he came through the academy and made his senior debut.

Bellingham watched Birmingham face Barcelona at St Andrew’s on July 31. The match ended 2-2 before Birmingham won 3-2 on penalties, with the former Blues midfielder receiving a warm welcome from the supporters.

Bellingham joined Birmingham's academy as a child and became the club's youngest-ever first-team player when he made his debut at 16 years and 38 days. He eventually left for Borussia Dortmund in 2020, with Birmingham retiring his No.22 shirt. UEFA confirms that he spent one full senior season with the club before moving to Germany.

His connection with Dortmund was also on display this summer.

On August 9, Bellingham attended Dortmund's pre-season meeting with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. His younger brother, Jobe Bellingham, played the full match for Dortmund, who won 3-2.

Jude spent three seasons at Dortmund before joining Real Madrid in 2023 and remains highly respected by the German club's supporters.

From Birmingham to Dortmund and now Real Madrid, Bellingham's career has moved quickly.

But his recent visits show that reaching the top has not made him forget the clubs that helped him get there.

Jude Bellingham remembers where it all started. ❤️👏
