Liverpool, Man Utd and Real Madrid Target Brighton Star

Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid are among the clubs monitoring Brighton defender Luka Vuskovic after his impressive start to life in the Premier League.

According to German outlet Fussball News, the three European giants are closely following the 19-year-old Croatia international, while Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping an eye on their former defender.

However, there is no transfer battle yet. The report states that Brighton have received no formal offers and no direct negotiations have started, with the interested clubs currently in the scouting and monitoring stage.

Vuskovic only joined Brighton from Tottenham in July. The Seagulls paid an initial £46 million, with the deal potentially rising to £50m with add-ons, making him the club's record signing. Tottenham also negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on clause and matching rights.

His value has already climbed to around €60 million, according to Transfermarkt figures cited by AS. Brighton therefore have little reason to consider a cheap sale, particularly after handing the defender a five-year contract with an option for another year.

The interest is understandable. Vuskovic impressed during his loan spell at Hamburg, making 30 Bundesliga appearances and scoring six goals. Brighton's own analysis also highlighted his 69.1 per cent duel success rate, which made him the best-performing centre-back in that metric in the Bundesliga last season.

He has also made five Premier League appearances for Brighton this season, scoring once, according to the league's official statistics.

For now, Brighton remain firmly in control. The bigger question is whether Vuskovic's development continues quickly enough to turn today's scouting interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid into serious bids in the future.
